Event Producer, Production Manager, Stage Manager | 2011-2019
Starting in 2010, TEDxChristchurch, operated by Licensee Kaila Colbin, grew to be a staple event on the Christchurch calendar, often selling out without any speakers announced.
In 2019, for the 10th edition, we went big and took over the Town Hall, partnering with Ngāi Tūāhuriri for the theme, Tūrangawaewae and partnered with TEDxYouth@Christchurch to make a weekend of it. The event gave a platform to 16 extraordinary speakers, as well as an organist, an Irish dance troupe, and a psychedelic rock and groove band. A hāngi lunch was served to over 1400 people in under 15 minutes winning both Best Community Event and Best Food Experience at the NZEA awards.
Across its 10 years and over 100 speakers, the talks have produced more than 10 million views with multiple speakers making it to TED.com homepage.
